My work began from a photograph of a pink cloud in the universe and I took the visual picture and turned it into a textured piece and eventually 3d in places. It has been a deliberate process to raise the surface, leave raw edges, and give it an organic feel. The shisha mirrors were used to help reflect the metallic threads and markal paints, eventually mounted on a mirror to further reflect. I have always enjoyed looking at textures and this was an opportunity to experience them myself. This has been a process with ideas and inspiration from fellow quilters.
